Hi there, welcome to my latest auction! As my first “big” project for 2010, I decided to begin with one of the coolest characters from TFTM, GALVATRON! “Galvatron is a force of nature. Born from the machinations of Unicron himself, Galvatron is a focal point of power and madness given form. He is blind to all but his lust for power; his whims and desires can be sacrificed in a moment’s rage. Not even his own subordinates are safe. Though he is not beyond the capacity for long-term goals, it is his unpredictability and his casual disregard for any and all life that strike such horror in friend and foe alike. Truly, the Decepticon leader is without any sense of empathy. Galvatron was once Megatron, but was reborn from his death throes in a Faustian pact with Unicron. He retains the memories and spark of Megatron, but his personality was significantly altered after the near-death experience, massive physical upgrade, and reprogramming. And all that was before he went insane. The cause and extent of Galvatron’s madness varies between different continuities, as does his physical power. Sometimes he’s depicted as almost invincible.” I used Energon Megatron and an original G1 Galvatron for this Robot Replica custom. Why do I call it a “robot replica”? That’s because he’s all about bot mode! I wanted him to look as show accurate as possible, something a dorky tank mode would’ve never allowed, and I really wanted him to be G1 accurate (a tank mode is not G1 at all!), so I didn’t bother with an alt mode (and I know most of you never display your custom figures in alt mode, so this for you guys!) He’s a mean, evil and very cool looking robot! On to the figure itself.. I resculpted his “horns” for a more show accurate look, I alsos added a ball joint for his neck. He has articulated hands and several parts from G1 Galvatron were added (90% of the parts added are original G1 parts, for that really cool nostalgic look!) The shading pattern was taken straight from the “Behold, Galvatron!” scene from TFTM. About the paint job, he was painted with matt enamels and with dullcoat lacquer on top, for a more matte finish and for protection. Good luck and happy bidding!
