Transformers G1 Prototype OPTIMUS PRIME GINRAI This is a super rare Generation 1 Prototype of Ginrai, the Japanese version of Optimus Prime. This is a vintage G1 prototype NOT a re-issue prototype. I got this piece over a year before the re-issue came out. I had it on my table at Botcon 2000 in Fort Wayne, I’ll try and scan a picture showing it. Its a totally unpainted version of the toy. It has no copyrights (I’m not sure if the actual toy did though?) It seems to be a duller red than the released version I have used a re-issue in the comparission pictures, there is a color difference it’s hard to see. The re-issue pictured is for reference only and is NOT included. There is a small piece of plastic missing from the front of the lower right leg. The eyes are dark red. The front is still metal. As added authenticity is have pictured some original Takara sketches of proposed box art which was unused and the used artwork. These have never been seen before by fans. I have also shown a line art drawing of the prototype (This is the headmaster version of the toy) I will include copies of these in the auction (NOT the originals) This artwork came from the same source at Takara that the proto came from. Check the pictures for all the differences. The joints are tight and the powermaster feature works. How many Gen 1 prototypes of Optimus Prime have you ever seen for sale?
